Real life and a speed triple have got in the way and I simply don`t use the bike, so the Tenere has to go.I don`t have much history, but here`s what i do know. I bought the bike a year or so ago from a South African engineer in Hayling Island, who in turn had got it from a local army friend, and he from another army colleague. This, I am told, accounts for the apparently low mileage (it was stored while the soldiers were away on tours of duty I was told). It is a UK bike, but there`s nothing before 2000, which I cannot account for.When I got the bike I did the following:- full service- Goodrich hose up front and new brake fluid- replaced the steering head bearings- replaced the horn button, which had self-destructed, with a bar mounted one- new rear sprocketIt could do with- new chain- suspension service- an oil and filter change, as it`s almost a year since I did the last oneThe good: it has not been restored so is mainly original (see below for exceptions), it is reliable, it is in good condition for the year, tyres are ok, it has a stainless steel exhaust from a TT600 (passed MoT fine), it is MoT`d and taxed, swing arm is in good condition (ie doesn`t have all those nasty stone pings which you see on bikes that have been heavily off-roaded), starts first or second time without fail, all electrics and switches work fine, X | £890.00 | |||||||

did normal services to the bikes ie pistons, oils, tyres and filters etc. The second year was used weekly, the third the same, the fourth year no use 1 ride out marshalling due to operation that went wrong by NHS, this year to date unused and not sure if my arm will ever really heal! operation wasn`t due to motorcycle, more the football.The bike I was told from first owner was bought from a Mid Wales rider from llanidloes and from asking people this seems to be correct but not concrete evidence as not asked him myself. The bike has always been maintained regardless off costs and had a lot of receipts here to prove. The pictures show you the condition it is in, it is a used off road / endure bike so there are signs of wear but it has been maintained to the highest standard by myself, anyone who see`s the bike will see my other bikes and the condition they are kept in, its just me, I`m anal on things like that. Oil & filters changed every other ride out which I guess is about 6 hours, changed on Friday after a Green landing session in the peaks as this was about 5 hours ride time. ive put a brand new did chain on. had been stored for many years in his garage and as mentioned i bought it from him, had the engine stripped and all filters changed/serviced and then spent more money for it to pass the MOT. This is a fantastic bike real old thumper, and has only done 2,940 genuine miles! Have old receipts and all paperwork, had it last serviced with JT motorbikes, had a new rear tyre, filters and plug. It has also been kept in a garage by myself and only used in dry weather! Also the most common problem with this bike is it`s starter motor, a local bike guru has replaced the starter sprag with a KTM unit and had the starter itself redone buy Universal Rotating with higher spec components and a 12 month warranty on it! I still use it to commute to work one day a week so mileage will go up slightly, its a real head turner and gets people talking down the local bike cafe! but I have found that I`m not riding as much as I used to (less than 1,000miles since last MOT) so it`s time to sell. Starts and rides well. Has been utterly reliable, (perhaps because I`ve looked after it?) and everything works as it should. Just passed it`s MOT and I`ve put 6months tax on it. There are a couple of things that the new owner might want to address There should be a plastic surround for the instruments which would improve the appearance. The tyres, though legal and good for 2-3000miles yet, are not a matching pair. Avon Distanzia`s seem popular, and only £150 a pair from your favourite internet auction site. The brake and clutch levers are shortened so as not to foul on the hand guards, which were there when I bought it and no, I haven`t taken it offroad! as a non runner, as a project for my son & I to get going together,& get him started on his first motorbike. The bike had been sitting unused for quite a long time & was missing the air filter. Also the fork seals had perished. We have managed to start it & it does run , but needs the carb` set up to run / tick over properly. We have purchased new seals for the forks, but they will need fitting. The reason for selling is that my son has out grown the bike before we could finish it & simply needs a taller bike. dont have the time. It has a new back tyre and tube and only ridden a few times since it was put on. One problem with the tyre is that on each side of the the rim, the tyre hasnt seated on the bead properly, maybe an inch each side. I have had it on at very high pressure, but when I let the air out to correct pressure it comes back off bead, not enough to let dirt in though. The back wheel has also been respoked recently. I have only used the bike in fields, on the farm i live on. I am willing to take the bike over on the boat to Ardrossan, as long as a deposit is paid. Will be finalised with winning bidder. Suspension is a little soft for fat gits like me (16stone), it is a 3/4 size bike so best recommended for teenagers / yoofs or the chronically underfed.Since I got my hands on it I`ve:# Dropped the oil (came out clean), filled up with fresh oil, run up to temp then drained that, then filled back up again with more fresh oil (synthetic 5w40)# Changed the spark plug for a new one (D8EA I think)#Cleaned & WD40`d inlet filter & mesh#Stripped the carb, blown through everywhere with an airline, then carb cleaner aerosol, then airline again, & rebuilt#Thrown a fair amount of Redex in with the fresh petrol to keep everything sweet#Stripped & cleaned the rear brake, wire brushed & lightly copper-greased all internal pivots, cleaned the friction surfaces with sandpaper, rebuilt & readjusted#Done an incredibly rough job of sanding the plastics & an even rougher job of spraying them satin black with a rattle can, but it *is* a dirtbike, and it doesn`t look all that bad#Lubed the rear suspension pivots with WD40 (pulling out aaaaaaaallll the stops here...!)#Pumped up the tyres (with fresh mountain air specially imported from halfway round the world at a cost so astronomical it would make even Fred Goodwin weep*)(*this part may or may not be true)At less than 100 kilos these are a bit quicker than you`d expect, X | £215.00  | |||||||
