another bike 400 cc, and I do not need that one. I got all oryginal plastics from that bike.. they are not on photo and need to be painted.engine is working and is in very good condition. instalation is working as well.If you want to put that bike on road you need to deal with DVLA to put new frame number coz thief rip that off. no V5. no MOT or TAX. its been a joy to play with. Having other bikes I have less time to use it. | It came to me in a state. Since then I`ve fit new rings, new wheel bearings, new exhaust chamber, refurb the forks.New cables, brake pads and a full service. I`ve had no problem getting parts as Cagiva seem to own the world! All the italian bikes big or small run the same parts. The brakes are brembo the carbs a delorto 38mm, forks are marzocchi. These are all standard parts for this bike. Lol Engine works well. Compression has been checked to manual spec. Gears all select and powerband works as should do. | Bad bits | Front tyre has slow puncture (both new tyres and are in good condition,but suggest transport for the bike) | Paintwork has been resprayed looks well but not professional work.Not mint ! | End can has had a patched but is solid. (Passed Mot with it ) | Key barrel has been rewired due to faulty contacts. Key required to start the bike but stop switch needed to switch engine off.Passed MOT (All electrics work as should do) | Generally tired frame paint work due to age. | Wheels need a paint. | Clocks in kph not mph but has overlay sticker | It would be a great bike for starters or a weekend toy. stainless cans ( I think the whole exhaust is stainless apart from a couple of clamps) | Always garaged. I`m the 3rd keeper. | Selling to keep the wife happy(!) Tricky choice. OW. | I searched for a really good one of these, as the successor to the Elefant, which was a great bike in so many ways - they still have a BIG following - but I didn`t need the off road capability of the Elefant any more, and wanted slightly higher gearing for the road. (She does have some off road capability, as reported by the magazines, but a bit less than the Elefant.) | And this bike really is good - the gearing is just right for real road use, but not quite as high as the 900SS which uses the same engine, as the Gran Canyon didn`t need the top end. This gives it REAL grunt at just the speeds and rpm you want it. (As if the bombproof Ducati 900 engine didn`t have enough grunt already!) GREAT fun. | The Elefant with this engine won the gruelling Paris-Dakar rally - 2 or 3 times, if I remember correctly. | Handling is superb as you would expect, and braking excellent especially with two front discs with twin pot calipers AND the goodridge braided brake hoses. | With so much torque, she is easy to ride in a relaxed way if you choose, moderate rpm and being lazy about the gear changes, or you can open the taps, deepen the growl and use the great I X
