arround in this original condition. The bike starts every time and runs very well, all works as it should. The bike has a nice tank and all plastics are in good shape for originals. Front and rear suspension works very well. All original paint, the exhaust has a few small dents overall.The left side engine casing has been weilded as per picture,but has been weilded very well. and was originally bought from cass honda! I have owned this bike for 18months and only ridden approx 18 times, when i first bought it, it has had a new piston and valves all re-checked and full service from SHMX, since ive owned it ive had the suspension set to my body weight (14 stone) which was set up by SHMX, which has been a dream to ride. ive had the valves checked on recent ocasions last being two rides ago! i have never raced this bike nor have the previous riders its just been used as a bit of fun with some track use, i am no pro rider so hasnt had no hard work! i also have a standard exhaust for it which is complete, currently it has a complete HGS exhaust system on it! which sounds amazing! it has standard front brake and a wavey rear! pro taper fat bars! i have serviced this bike with oil, oil filters after every three rides being about every 8 hours, and air filter has been cleaned and changed every ride! ( from the pictures there will be no hand guards or jack up stand included in this sale) i have one oil filter to go with and and a spare air filter! i also have a comp flow stainless steel oil filter that has never been used with a cover cap, which is still in its packaging! i have two complete sets of plastics to go with the bike and some one off bits! the only reason for me getting rid of this bike is because i X

and is fantastic on short or long journeys I regularly travel to Birmingham and Norfolk and it has never let me down. It has just had its MOT and passed with only one advisory and that was a new rear tyre which i had changed strait away. It also has a scottoiler and heated grips. In the photo`s the bike is shown with a Givi top box and brackets for Givi panniers these are not included in the sale. I only brought the bike back in April from a local bike shop i am only selling it as i have always had Harley Davidsons and thought that this would be a nice change but my wife dose not find it as comfortable as the Electra Glide i had so i am looking for a Pan European.The only down side is that i lost my footing turning the bike around in a car park and dropped the bike so there are some scratches on the right hand fairing. off the ground most of the time. bought the bike a while ago. but hasnt been used much atall (2 times if that ) good bits, bike is all there . all parts origional (i think on it) .great tyres, and excellant brakes. suspension feels great front shocks have no leaks . and back feels nice and firm. have a spare bike of the same year ,that may come with it if it goes for a good price. bad bitswill need a new kicksatrt mechanism or spring as the one on the bike is worn( will bump and go no problem tho.there is a problem with the clutch. seems the clutch isnt disengaging properly and stalls when stopped still in a gear.any questions please ask. i know how much this bike is worth so no silly offers please. bike can be delivered if not too far away, or at a little extra cost. and would ideally like cash on collection please. it is advertised elswhere too so may be removed at anytime. thx for looking . check my other auctions out. researching and looking for a bike in the best avilable condtion for this age of bike. The XR600R is a legend when it comes to enduro race bikes, a quick google and look at the XR forum will convince any prospective owners that this bike is for them. Since owning the bike the following modifications have been carried out to improve it.1. Fitted new Acerbis 18 litre fuel tank to replace standard 10.5 litre tank. (£200) Approx 200 mile range with this tank.2. Fitted Motrax speedo convertor so the speedo reads in MPH and records miles. This was done at 10000km meaning the bike has covered approx 6300 miles.(£45) I didnt want to get caught speeding.3. Fitted Arrow Dakar stainless steel silencer. Sounds great. (£200)4. Fitted Talon lowering link (£35) to lower the bike approx 1 to 1.5 inches with the preload set for my body weight and front forks dropped 1 inch in the yokes. This still allows full suspension travel and standard link will be supplied with the bike.5. Currently fitted with 14 tooth front sproket for on/offroad use. Will be supplied with 13 and 15 also. Currently will comfortably do 70 mph on the road.6. Fitted NGK platinum plug, standard plug and new splitfire plug also supplied.7. Fitted genuine Honda R/H mirror for riding on the road.(£26)8. 12 years and it has had little use, never been abused and stored in a large and completely dry cedar workshop. The XL 250 RF was the last and most powerful development of Honda`s original dual purpose 250 and has the radial 4 valve head and twin carbs...the engine is lifted straight from the XR Enduro range. Although the bike has been lightly modified to make it more suitable for trail riding, it has hardly ever been used off road( I have always had a `proper` enduro bike for that) and all of the original parts...mudguards, pillion rests, rear indicators, tool box, etc are included with the bike...see last photo. All bearings and linkages are perfect as are the brakes, cables, etc. Rims are absolutely true, spokes are not damaged or rusty and it has the correct original exhaust system which is completely rust free(very rare!). The frame, footrests, suspension components, etc are perfect and there is absolutely none of the normal corrosion on the fork stanchions. I know of no mechanical faults whatsoever with the bike and the engine has fantastic compression. It is quiet and uses no oil. It is also very economical... ridden sensibly. 70 mpg is easily achievable. Tyres are virtualy brand new Pireli MT43 Grippers, chains and sprockets (expensive Talon Engineering ones) are also as new and a new battery has just been fitted. A X
