thousand kilometres recorded so just over twenty five thousand miles. A pretty standard machine which is quite rare, so many of these have been altered and many of them do not have the original decompressor mechanism, this one does and is easy to start. New battery just fitted, all the electrics work, the bike rides well, starts easily and pulls strongly with a mechanically quiet engine, doesnt drip or smoke, gears and clutch work well. Paintwork wont win shows and is showing its twenty eight years history, but its all the original Honda down to the decals, please look closely at the pictures which are part of the description. Its just not the bike style for me, a bit to big, so if you have an exchange thats interesting, an old special ? a project ? sprinter ? bitsa ? or even a bike in boxes ? please get in touch, usual ebay rules apply you buy mine and I will buy yours, the more interesting the better. condition for its age, not immaculate but in superb original standard condition. 10900 miles on the original Honda speedo. Never been stripped down, it is how it left the Honda factory in 1981/ 82!! As you can see from the photos the bike looks amazing for its age with standard Honda tool holder, helmet lock, original Honda key, lots and lots of history, many reciepts, Haynes manual etc. I did some light restoration work when I purchased the bike. This included replacing the handlebars with classic Renthal bars, new number boards (standard original), fitted an original Honda XL headlight & cowling, new DID heavy duty "O" ring drive chain (still on original sprockets as they are like new!!), new quality branded rear tyre, replaced the rear mudguard with original Honda XL guard (including transfer decals), new original Honda mirrors and set up the tappets along with a thorough service. I have covered very few miles since purchase so think its about time that someone else enjoys the bike. All electrics including indicators function as they should. The engine sounds like it is a year old running smoothly & pulling like a train. Gears again work smoothly with a nice light smooth clutch.
