This bike has the uprated 45mm Marzocchi forks fitted which are loads better than the standard ones for this year of bike.It has also benefited from having the rear shock anodised in black which not only looks trick but works better too. The tyres have plenty of wear left in them,the chain and sprockets are also very good. It has a new seat cover fitted but has a very good red one underneath if your not keen on the purple one.I have put the white airbox on the bike from the 1994 model which gives it the more retro look. Included in the sale is a set of yellow rad scoops,yellow front mudguard and yellow front number plate if you wish to make it all yellow,There is also a red rear fender and a set of red side panels if you prefer it all red. It has DEP front pipe which is a bit tatty but useable and a recently re-packed pro-circuit silencer. It has been very well looked after oil and oil filter changed after every 2nd or 3rd ride and air filter cleaned after every ride and has been replaced twice. Why ? ) Rear trials section tyre has puncture .There are no working lights , wiring appears mostly intact .Seat has been recovered , and tank has small dent in side .Spare second engine ( history unknown ) to go with sale , there is a cooling fin repair on spare engine, I may have a spare carb somewhere . Also spare XL forks included ( see picture ). The bike was bought from a farm where it had spent many years . The frame number is not clearly readable , there-fore applying for V5 may be difficult. Would probably suit trials project, or great source of spares for renovation .Forgot to mention , the engine burns a little oil when warm. 16yrs old and has bought a road legal SuperMoto. The bike has never been raced and has only been riden around my mates field. The engine has been totally rebuilt by a local reputable motorcycle repair centre, at a cost of £603. (Receipts supplied). Since the rebuild my son has riden it twice and hasn`t fully run it in yet (only half throttle). One more tank of petrol required, before fully run in and then it can be opened up, it was fast before the rebuild. The bikes starts easily, on first or second kick. The frame has been professionally painted just before he bought it. The bike has been cleaned after every ride and is in great condition for it`s age. There are very few scratches on it considering it`s a crosser, as seen from photo`s. He has worn out 1 or 2 toothbrushes, cleaning the hard to get to areas. Both front and back tyres have plenty of tread. Only top quality 2 stroke oil used. condition for its age, not immaculate but in superb original standard condition. 10900 miles on the original Honda speedo. Never been stripped down, it is how it left the Honda factory in 1981/ 82!! As you can see from the photos the bike looks amazing for its age with standard Honda tool holder, helmet lock, original Honda key, lots and lots of history, many reciepts, Haynes manual etc. I did some light restoration work when I purchased the bike. This included replacing the handlebars with classic Renthal bars, new number boards (standard original), fitted an original Honda XL headlight & cowling, new DID heavy duty "O" ring drive chain (still on original sprockets as they are like new!!), new quality branded rear tyre, replaced the rear mudguard with original Honda XL guard (including transfer decals), new original Honda mirrors and set up the tappets along with a thorough service. I have covered very few miles since purchase so think its about time that someone else enjoys the bike. All electrics including indicators function as they should. The engine sounds like it is a year old running smoothly & pulling like a train. Gears again work smoothly with a nice light smooth clutch. very little use. This is a perfect bike for anyone looking to race evo motocross. It has been road registered on a “Q” plate and has had a full pro racing lighting system including lighting coil, side stand, Honda XR speedo and speedo drive and Acerbis enduro lights installed. These items are easily removed allowing the bike to be returned to moto x trim. The CR had a full rebuild in 1996/97 including engine strip, re bore and new piston (receipts for this), frame paint, o-ring chain and sprockets, brake pads, Renthal bars, chain rollers and more. However the bike has not been used since this rebuild and has been stored for the last 15 years. It has had all new plastics all of which are in excellent condition with no damage, even the petrol tank is mint and scratch free, the rear fender has been drilled to accept an enduro rear light but these are available for less than £20. It has a dent free Schlecten front pipe, DEP tailpipe, Akront alloy rims laced to OEM hubs with stainless steel spokes, Braided front brake hose and The radiators are perfect. It also has quite a few genuine Honda parts as spares such as Stator, flywheel and other electrical parts as well as an Answer roost boost which alters the ignition curve for increased power output plus gaskets and seals. the bike has covered around 2200 km. I`ve owned the bike for 18 months, but for the last year it has been sat unused in my shed. I only used the bike for some light green laning over the winter period when I bought it. The bike is in pretty good condtion for its age, and I`ve maintained it well. The engine and gearbox oils and filter have been changed after every other ride, and the air filter has been cleaned regularly. The bike is fitted with Carmichael Pro Taper bars, and I`ve added an Akrapovic exhaust with a new magnesium downpipe and new hand grips. The starter idle gear has been replaced and there is good life in the tires, which are fitted with heavy duty tubes. used it. This is possibly the biggest learner legal bike on the market with its comfortable high riding position. I never had any trouble at 6ft 7`` even on long journeys.The bike runs like a dream and is perfect as a learner bike or for people wanting a cheap commuting bike... the bike averages around about 100MPGWith £15 a year road tax and cheap insurance, its very cheap to run. The V-Twin engine makes it sound a bit better than your normal learner bike and if it wasnt for the L plates then you could hardly tell its learner legal.It`s got a top box fitted that`s big enough to hold 2 helmets. There are some minor scuffs on the mirrors and one of the side panels (see links below for pictures). These are nothing and hardly noticable, overall a very clean bike that has been garaged and covered while not in use. The oil was changed 3 months ago and doesn`t need topping up that often.It has very low miles compared to some I`ve seen on here at 9011 but this will go up as the bike is still often used in a daily commute.The bike has 8 months MOT left and 8 months tax. Engine appears to have been polished at some time, with a recent new clutch/waterpump cover fitted. Stamped on the cylinder/barrel are two letters...CT as can be seen in the picture, may be the tuners initials, would make sense if it was, as the compression is incredible.
