had the plastic film covering the seat. It was bought at christmas and has only had two outing this year and has not been used since march. I recently had a new KTM clutch fitted aswell as a new air box and filter (all KTM parts bought from Jim Air Racing) as the old air box was starting to perish, although its a replica all KTM parts will fit this bike. he moved on to a 125 and I bought the bike for my own son who had raced a 65 (only 4 meetings) in 08 but was outgrowing the bike. Due to my work commitments we have never managed to race the 85 at all since buying it. I own a Honda XR 250 and we have ended up just green laning days out and once or twice out in local farmers fields. This year the bike has been only once due again to lack of time/enthusiasm. The bike has been maintained by Anderson & Wilson Engineering of Galashiels from day one, and when I first got the bike, forks,swing arm,carb,wheels, brakes etc were all stripped off cleaned new pads fitted, and it has obviously seen little use since. I have changed the oil at the start of this year and the bike has always been cleaned and WD40`d after use. as it looks awsome with just the monster energy strike on the front and the fork protectors. It has a FMF tail pipe which make the bike sound even better. It is a very quick bike for a 200 it rides as smooth as a 4 stroke. The front end comes up with out being in your face like a 250 2 stroke or not gutless like a 125 the power is smooth and fast. i have owned the bike for a couple months and haven`t rode it very much. It has just had a full gearbox oil change air filter about a hour ago. it has a hydraulic clutch which is smooth and light the only downside is the bracket has snapped but will get a new one and will be fitted before end of auction. these bikes are hard to come by and suit most people. Remember it is a KTM not a chinese heap. it is a tidy bike for the age always looked after. comes with a spare piston almost a new one in there the spare one just needs a ring and it is not a cheap one. I would swap for a yamaha yzf 250 or 2004 honda crf 250 or any other 4 stroke (must be 250f) as i love the sound of them. It is a light bike and i will miss it dearly. isn`t mine I do know the history of it from new.It was bought brand new by the owner in 2007 for his son to have a go at motocross who only did one season on it as a beginner and it was never thrashed. They gave up motocross in 2008 and the bike went into storage. It was maintained when in use by a reputable KTM dealer and with the intention of using it this year (which didn`t happen) had a complete engine rebuild. It was run in but that was it.As you can see from the pictures it is in A1 condition, it even has the original plastics on.The only thing that I can see it will need is new fork seals as there is some seepage on the fork legs,other than that it is ready to race. start and electric start and it always starts instantly unlike most singles.She has the best upgrade you could want for an on road off road bike it has a brand new xcell crush drive rear wheel which saves your gear box,chain and sprockets on the road,so a prefect bike for green laning.This wheel alone costs over £500 and done just a few hundred miles.The next upgrade it has is a new ktm sump guard which is a must for off road, at a cost of £100, and a new gel battery was fitted a few month`s ago.The bike has a new rear sprocket with steel teeth which is colour coded with a new front sprocket and new chain.
