The bike runs brilliantly, no excessive smoke it is a 2 stroke. This bike has been brilliant for my son, he has unfortunaly just out grown it, he is 15 now so just a little big for it. It has not been raced just been out to local practice tracks where supervised. This bike has cost me 2 relationships and had been one of the few reliable and dependable things in my life over the last 10 yrs! For the first 2 years of its life while under warrenty it was maintained by Toylors Racing in chippenham. Approx 5years ago it had a .5 mm rebore and a complete engine refresh which replaced a worn rocker. Unfortunatly about 2 years ago it lunched its balancer shaft sending it out of the front of the engine. this meant that the engine required new cases. These were replaced with ebay items from a stolen recovered engine. The engine was stripped and all the bearings replaced in the bottom end. Due to the cost of this and the fact it had taken 2 years to get this far the top end was not refreshed but replaced with my original barrel piston head and cams. a new cam chain was fitted. with a view to replacing rings at a later date. Since the rebuild the bike has only done about a 1000 miles and runs ok but burns a small amount of oil. This will be one of two reasons. 1) the top end needs new rings and valve stem oil seals ( i have the seals) 2) the small o ring in the carb float bowl needle valve is leaking by, and this is making bike run so rich oil is being washed from the bore. This is the most likely first port of X

for over 3yrs. Not sure on the year been told about 1997. I use to use this bike alot until the clutch went, it sat in the garage over winter. I then got the clutch done. Since then it has never been right, took it to a garage and they said it might be something simple like bits of the broken old clutch. Basically whats wrong is when it gets warm it doesn`t go in 4th or 5th gear. I have just had a baby and don`t have the money to fix it. It hasnt been run for 6months that is why I am listing it as a non runner. Prior to clutch problems it was a very very fast bike and almost impossible to keep the front wheel on the ground. the uk spec and an import it is simply that the imports have upside down forks, a full power engine thats around 25BHP or so, and that the lights are permanantly on when riding. Evereything else is the same. The Bike I have completely stripped it down, shotblast and powdercoated the frame and swingarm, rear brake peddal, front footpegs, sidestand, subframe and a few other bits around the rad too. The engine has been rebuilt with new crank bearings, seals, piston kit and of course all the gaskets too, this will need running in for around 500 miles. As for the rest of the bike it has had new front brake pads, ignition barrel, battery, rear tyre and chain. The only thing i have not done is having the plastics painted as on trial bikes they dont paint very well so it has minor scuffs but no cracks,also the tank has a few scratches but no dents. The bike was imported into the uk in 2005 by an importer in bristol, I suspect, but i`m not sure that they have put the converter between the speedo cable and speedo so that now the speedo reads in MPH not KPH. I have rode the bike up and down the road and its a great bike, pulls nice and it feels that it just wants to go more, but until the engine has been run in this is not advisable.This bike will be great to someone who wants to do his/her cbt as its very manoeuvrable, however this is X

It has been maintained to the highest standard possible and it is serviced and cleaned after every ride. 2 stroke premix oil used is castrol power 1 tts which is fully synthetic. Gear oil is replaced every 3 rides and chain is oiled after every ride. The rear sprocket has been replaced and has had a recent new michelin star cross mx rear tyre. Overall this bike is in very good condition as you can see from the pictures, however it does bear the usual wear and tear of this kind of bike. It starts and runs well and has no mechanical faults what so ever. It has never once broke down on me and had a full engine rebuild just 20 hours ago. All bearings also 100%. Its previous owner had it re-jetted to give a crisper throttle response and slightly more power and it is very fast for a 125.Included in this sale are spares for the bike which include standard rear sprocket, piston rings, brand new seat cover and spare plastics. This bike is widely sold in Oz, NZ, Asia, USA and Canada as the DRZ250. It`s fitted with a great 250cc single dohc single, air oil cooled, which produces about 30bhp. Factory fitted with stainless steal exhaust system and I`ve fitted a bash plate (bike has never been used off road let alone seen rain!) The bike is only 118kg so power to weight it really flies. Smooth stonky engine which flies around town but still capable of motorway speeds. The bike is fitted with a long range 17 litre tank and gives 70+mpg. You could use this bike for anything (across Africa or just to the office!!!). I got the bike 2 years ago and it only had 70km, on the clock. The previous owner had got it specifically for an off road overland trip through Spain which then never happened. The bike is now showing 2500km (about 1600 miles from new!!). The condition reflects the mileage. I really recommend viewing you will not be disappointed. Why pay stilly money for a DRZ400 when you could have this mint bike which does pretty much exactly the same thing. Bike currently fitted with road bias tyres. and decided to try out a bit off green laning but done it once then decided that it wasnt for me. Therefore i have just used it to go to and from work. It is a very fun and reliable bike. It comes with endro tyres on but the rear needs changing. I have some more off-road tyres and some road tyres for the bike, also have the original mirros, indicators and a handy rack with tool box attached. for over 3yrs. Not sure on the year been told about 1997. I use to use this bike alot until the clutch went, it sat in the garage over winter. I then got the clutch done. Since then it has never been right, took it to a garage and they said it might be something simple like bits of the broken old clutch. Basically whats wrong is when it gets warm it doesn`t go in 4th or 5th gear. I have just had a baby and don`t have the money to fix it. It hasnt been run for 6months that is why I am listing it as a non runner. Prior to clutch problems it was a very very fast bike and almost impossible to keep the front wheel on the ground. I dont know alot about motorbikes so feel free to come and have a look. Would be ideal for spares or repairs or restoration. Not suitable for a novice rider. Low starting price no reserve.
