the bike for about two years and have had a lot of fun on it just comuting to work and going on the odd weekend ride. The bike has bean very well maintained in the time ive had it as i am a motorcycle mechanic and it had a top end engine rebuild around a year ago due to a factory fault, since then ive done the 3x3 airbox modification uprated the carb to give it a bit more power and it runs perfectly. Also fitted to the bike is a scorpion end can which gives a really nice sound. taxed, starts easily and rides very well. The ignition switch and fork gaitors have been replaced recently and it has a Sebring can, otherwise it looks pretty much unmolested. I suspect it has spent most of it`s life on the tarmac as there is none of the usual damage found on trail bikes, having said that, it does require some cosmetic attention, mainly paintwork around the swinging arm/suspension area. She really is a lovely example of a DR - grunty with lots of poke even at top speeds.I have only ever riden her on dry days and she has been garaged at all times. I have only covered an average 600 miles a year for the last two years - so unfortunately as a toy... she has to go.the speedo was converted to MPH but the milage is still in Kilometers Milage is currently showing 38,000 kilometres (approx as the bike is now back in the shop for sale so can`t remember exactly)Its a kick start only - great for never having to worry about the battery going flat if you are an occasional biker like I am.just look at the pictures and she will sell herself!mot and tax are both October.really don`t want to see her go but needs must. I am sure this bike will start. the electrics loom are still on bike no lights and indicators or key or wing mirrors. the previous owner used it as an off road bike and had no need for these parts.it couldn`t take much to have this bike back on the road.this bike hasn`t drove in years now but everything is moving smoothly. This is very rare bike and can be driven by anybody with a provisional licence. check out videos on you tube this is a powerful bike and would be a much better bike than a scooter or most 125`s today. a few other rmz 08 examples and it was certainly easy to compare the condition. I had a very thorough look round and really was is fabulous barely used condition. The suspension has been revalved by TILLIT apart from that- standard. | The bike had been raced for the 08 season, which was good news for me because i knew the owner had kept this bike in first class condition not owned by someone who didnt care for its mechanical condition. Then it was unused for virtually a year (i understand the owner updated the model to 2009 for racing), I part exchanged/traded it with my YZ 250. | Fortunately (for the potential buyer) I am very keen to keep the bike in very good mechanical condition and because the history of maintainance wasnt clear when i bought it i sent it to my mechanic (who looks after a lot of racing bikes in my area) who stripped it down for a total rebuild. | His report stated the bike was in very good mechanical condition, renewing the top end with genuine suzuki parts anyway, piston, rings, valves checked and re-grounded, valve lap etc all set and tuned the suspension for my weight (14 st) I can prove all work and costs- the rebuild + other bits and bobs cost around £500. | I lived near Edinburgh at the time and managed to enjoy it only 2 times after that.
