ago after looking for a long time i realist there was a lot of crap out there with bent frames xt running gear no paper work ect ect. then i was lucky anoth to find this beauty with matching numbers, log book and certificate of manufacture and had not been dropped down a cliff. when i got the bike it was not running i was told the engine was seized, which turned out to be the gear box second gear had broke and made a bit of a mess, so i had the box rebuilt not just second gear but the whorl lot with tt parts NOT xt parts at a cost of about £800 since this i have probly done 30 miles on this bike, it has no mot at the moment but if it make the right money i can get it moted befor pick up. this is a classic enduro bike which are getting harder to find. the bike is adventist elsewhere so i have the right to end the sale early. bike will need to be picked up from nn12. thanks for looking. and pulls well in all the gears, no unusual noises or knocks, all work carried out by myself, this is the 4th dt125 iv`e rebuilt now, so i know what im doing when it comes to dt`s.fully de restricted, power valve rotated 180deg, so its now fully open in the upper rpm range, and electrical restriction removed, all the wiring i have done on this bike has been done correctly by souldering the wires and covering them with heat shrink, the wires going to the rear of the bike have extra protection with flexible plastic tubing to protect from dirt and moisture, so the wiring is going to last a long time before corrosion gets in (unlike a lot of dodgy wiring iv seen on dt`s and other bikes) this is an ideal bike for a new rider if they want to get into green laneing or for anywon who wants a good reliable commuter thats also fun to ride cheap to maintain, cheap to run, it will come with a years tax and mot, 3/4 tank of fuel, over half tank of 2 stroke oil, just insure and ride away, no hassle x2 ignition keys, steering,ignition and fuel cap locks works as they should not stiff or corroded inside | new parts are as follows: | new front fender(polisport,yamaha wr) | new rear fender | new tank panels | new tank panel graphics, | new polisport head light | new rear indis | new chain and sprockets, new front sprocket not fitted as the one X | £1600.00  | |||||||

the front and a chain/sprocket kit which is grubby but has obviously had very little use.It does start and run but will need attention as although the engine seems good mechanically it does backfire quite a lot which suggests a fuel system overhaul as a first port of call. There is an oil leak from the rocker cover which I`m told is quite common on this model however, I am not a Yamaha man so I couldn`t really say.This will make a nice easy project for someone that doesn`t want too much work. Please bear in mind when bidding that it will need to be collected by van or trailer as it has been unused for three years so a good thorough check over will be needed as an absolute minimum. to Bottom/Big end barring has gone and am not been able to find some one to fix it for me. Although i did assume that it might of been the top end that had gone I replaced the piston, piston rings, barrel, head gasket and base gasket which come to £70 and i have the invoice to prove it. Also needs a few minor things like speedo cable and choke cable as when I purchased the vechile it was already like that. Before problem acquired worked lovely for example lights work, gears are fine, horn works, clutch is good ect. ect. Although the Bottom/Big end barring has gone, it still starts and runs but i wouldn`t suggest riding it as may cause further problem`s so would need picking up. It is a single cylinder 249cc four stroke with 6 gears, which makes it far more useable for road riding. It is currently registered in my name and has been since I bought it in August 2010, and is listed as having had 6 former keepers. Although I have no history from before I owned the bike, I do have the current and previous MOT certificate, the V5 registration certificate, and of course it has a valid tax disc. The MOT is valid until 11/08/2012 and the tax lasts until the end of July 2012. It passed the previous MOT with no advisory notices. I also have two keys for the bike. Although I have never taken the bike off road, it certainly has the capability and was designed with this in mind, being lightweight with long travel suspension. I have been using the bike as a commuter and it is supreme at this - economical to run, nippy around town, and a comfortable and commanding view of the road. There were two versions of this bike when it was first produced - the Open Enduro and the Raid. The difference is the Raid has a sensible sized tank (16 litres) and headlight, along with a stiffer steel rear subframe to allow a carrying rack to be fitted to the rear - hence the topbox. keeping with my caravan in the South of France but alas never got round to doing anything with it so I`m listing it for sale as I no longer have the time to do anything with it which is a shame as it would make a lovely bike. Its a non runner, I understand a common failing is the coil pack but I have not investigated further. There is a welded repair to the ignition cover though which needs fettling Its a UK bike as it has a speedometer reading in MPH but this means nothing as you can just change the speedometer! The speedometer reads about 24,000 but I have nothing to verify this! There are no documents with this bike (which was no problem for me as I was going to either Q plate it or register it in France) but there are a set of keys though. I am happy to provide engine and frame numbers if any bidder would like to run a HPI check on it and needless to say a full receipt will be given to the purchaser. I`ve advertised this bike in my local paper and with the motor/motorcycle clubs I belong to and have several people coming to look at it over the next few days so it could be withdrawn.
