a very low miles and very clean bike, i have used it a few times and think its lovely, just cant keep it if im not going away now. you can see by the pictures its been looked after, i have the BMW Service history. It has been registered as overseas but its not really, i bought it from N Ireland and their DVLA is different to UK so it comes up as regisered over seas. its got Heated grips, hand guards, LED indicators, HID head light (very nice too)an extra power socket (you can see it in the pics above the rectifier)there is nothing this bike needs, only a rider thats going to use it. any inspection welcome, and i bought it cash so its got no out standing finance and HPI clear. to like it that much but in fact it has been brilliant!. So much so that I have now ditched the K and bought a new 2010 R1200 GS Adventure, so this has got to go... It really has been a great bike and well looked after and I`m not sure if the pics will do it justice. It is on a 54 plate but was 1st registered in 2005. It now has 14600 miles on the clock, Is fitted with a BMW alarm, has heated grips, abs and comes with a full set of undented panniers. A touring screen has been fitted, a bagster tank cover (no tank bag) as well as a optimate lead for battery charging. Has a very good rear tyre and a brand new front. If you are thinking of bidding I would highly recommend a viewing to avoid disappiontment. This bike is a 2005 model and is a lot better than quite a few younger bikes that I saw when I was looking to buy, but it does have the little bmw tell tale signs. A bit of blistering on the front engine bolts but nothing you would not get on a 2007 bike, so please do not expect perfection. and has just been serviced so is set for another 6000 miles. The chain and sprockets have just been replaced, as have the tyres and the rear shock. It is under a BMW extended warranty until March 2011 - this is transferable to and extendable by the next owner. It has a computer, ABS, centre stand, white indicators, BMW hand guards, heated grips, Scott Oiler and a rear rack. You are welcome to inspect before bidding. journey - Claudio`s bike - the cameraman. UK registered with log book V5 and 12 months MOT. Supplied by BMW Motorrad GB from new. CONDITION This is one of the three original BMW R1200GS Adventurers as used by Ewan McGregor, Charlie Boorman and Claudio for the epic Long Way Down journey as seen on TV and DVD. The bike has covered a little over 14312 miles by one ‘ careful` owner and is in the exact condition as collected from the airport after the Cape Town finish line – the great unwashed. The bike comes with all the Touratech boxes, guards, screen and massive extras list that was available at the time along with the original tank bag which still has the route map in the clear sleeve. There must be more than £3000 of extras on this bike. There is some damage to the front mudguard, screen and right bump pad, but this is all superficial and adds to the genuine credibility of the bike – if you view the DVD of the Long Way Down, you will see many of Claudio`s accidents as they happened. This is not the bike that Claudio used on the Long Way Round - this is the Long Way Down bike which travelled from John O`Groats to Cape Town. I have been tempted to power wash the bike, but I didn`t want to do that if someone wanted the bike as a genuine piece of motorcycle history. I thought was the best spec F800 GS my money could buy. You see a lot of Yellow/Black bikes around so I wanted something a bit more low key but with great equipment. I specced it with: -COMFORT PACK (HEATED GRIPS, MAIN STAND AND ABS) -ON BOARD COMPUTER -LED LIGHTS -FACTORY LOW SEAT I got the dealer to add Mid Size Hand Guards which have been great and add to the look of the bike really well, I think the only thing I didn`t have was the Alarm which the dealer said wasn`t needed. Since then I have run the bike in as required and have had it serviced by BVM at 700 miles; it has just had its annual service at Cotswold Motorrad this week, both are stamped in the book. I have religiously oiled the chain and it hasn`t spent a single night outside, having been garaged from new. There are NO marks or scratches anywhere on the bike and its never been dropped and still has the balance of the BMW 2 Year Warranty from new. Although I hardly ever ride it when I do I remember what I`ve been missing, for a big bike it handles incredibly well and you can really throw it around, it surprises a few people on smaller stuff.
