cover. The suspension/wheels/swing-arm are all in good condition. The Engine runs well and pulls like a train but it does not go into 3rd gear properly. The plastics are original but scruffy but have no rips or tears. The tyres are all good. The Clutch/brakes/steering are all good and work perfectly. The frame was powder coated by the previous owner a few years ago & the bike has not done much since. The nearside footpeg holder has been welded at some point, and thats about it. I am selling the bike as my plans for this year have changed and i will not have much time to ride it or sort it out. stunning bike in great condition very little use completly unmolested - I can start the bike from cold 1 or 2 kicks. I think the pictures speak a thousand words and show the condition and low usage - this is a great bike with no issues. I will be sorry to see this bike go my intention was to road register but never got around to it - I have the form from DVLA to do so, you would need to take the bike for an MOT - I have the horn and number plate carrier. I purchased the bike from a friend who has had the bike from new - If I remember correctly he got it from Vic Eastwoods at Swanley in 1999. old cr500, the only parts on this bike from the knackered one, is the forks, shock and swingarm, every thing else I have either bourght brand new or off e-bay, the bike is in mint condition apart from it could do with a new front brake line, a set of rad shrouds and a front mud guard if we`re picky. It has got brand new gmx radiators, brand new fmf gnarly front pipe, brand new fmf power core silencer, it has boysen stage two reeds, a new piston kit from lings honda, suspension linkage bearings, talon sprockets front and back with a renthal r1 chain, back and sides plastics a brand new clutch, a brand new cluch casing with water pump attached, (1986 model), also I have replaced the fork seals and filled them to their correct level. I bought the engine for 500 off ebay nearly 2 years ago, since then I have done all this work to it and only ridden it three or four times, the piston has barely been worn in, when I bourght it, the guy on ebay said that the engine had been stood under a bench for twenty years ready to be rebuilt but he never got around to it. Anyway when I got the engine, the bearing behind the water pump had got a little bit of metal stuck in it, seizing the engine, hence a new clutch cover, the bottom end and every thing looks like new, thats why i didn`t do the bottom end. No rust, a small rips in seat, I changed the paddle tyre and put on a new Dunlop. The front tyre is almost new. The bike has an aftermarket exhaust, there are a few small dings in it. Approx 10 mins running time ago i fitted a new wossner forged Piston kit, Genuine Honda little end bearing and top end gasket set.Whilst the top end was apart the bottom end was checked for wear and was in great condition with no play in the crank bearings!I have taken a few pics to show the inside of the engineI will also follow the correct running in period before the bike goes to maximize the life of the piston kit. as all the paintwork, decals, clocks etc are original. I bought this bike some years ago in good condition and set about returning it to its original condition. I managed to locate an original headlight unit, Honda tail light, DiD heavy duty o ring chain, branded rear trail type tyre, new original Honda chrome mirrors and a few other bits and pieces. High Peak Motorcycles (new Mills) then checked all the vital settings including tappets, oil & filter (gauze) change, fork service, swing arm grease, etc. The only parts that are not original are the small rear indicators and classic Renthal bars. All the electrics work as they should. Original tool holder is in place as is the practical rear rack and helmet lock. Original Honda key. Large amount of reciepts (David Silver Spares, Wemoto etc) Haynes workshop manual and previous mots. The bike was even featured in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics some years back. This Honda is just as good to ride with a smooth power delivery, slick gear change, light clutch operation and good brakes. I am very sorry to let this bike go but have to reduce my collection! Not the usual used and abused rubbish. This is a genuine one off opportunity to purchase a fast appreciating classic trail/ enduro bike.
