THIS BIKE AS A WINTER PROJECT AND HAVE LOVED IT.THE BIKE WAS NEAR MINT WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT I ALWAYS LIKE MY BIKES TO BE 100% SO I GAVE IT A LITTLE TIDY UP.THE ONLY JOBS I NEEDED TO DO WERE TIDY UP THE PAINTWORK A LITTLE ( OLD PICTURES TO SHOW NO DAMAGE ), NEW FORK SEALS AND GET THE BIKE REGISTERED / MOT.THE ENGINE, BRAKES, CLUTCH AND ELECTRICS ARE PERFECT AND REALLY DO BACK UP THE LOW MILEAGE.THIS IS PROBABLY 1 OF THE CLEANEST XL250S BIKES YOU WILL EVER SEE FOR 33 YEARS OLD AND WILL ONLY NOW APPRECIATE IN VALUE. you what i know. It was originally supplied by Honda to a Bruce Brown in 1980 along with others for the making of a motorcycle documentary called "On Any Sunday", for which he was director. The machine can be seen in scene 6 during a dessert race. After shooting was complete the bike was purchased by a Larry Huffman who starred in the film & was registered on an Illonois Plate. It was last on the road in 1988 & was then put into storage. Now given a new lease of life the bike was imported from the states on 25-11-2011 & comes with the C&E 389 form to show all duties are paid. I also have the original USA plate to go with it. It looks as if someone has started to spend a lot of money on her as she has a brand new front exhaust, a good polish up & is 99% complete & original. you will see in the photos, i have removed the tank & seat to show how clean it is. The parts needed to make 100% are skid plate under motor, left hand chain cover,heat shield & the tail pipe is an after market affair (DEP). I have heard it run, & the motor is very quiet. no nasty knocks or rattles. The clock shows 1800 miles. The wheels are all good as are the rims & spokes.
